New Starting in 2022 – Electronic cables may now cross the sidelines. Students may NOT perform over cables that are on the field, whether they are covered or not. This includes all types of cables

New Starting in 2022 – A non-student may intervene during the 8 minute performance clock to address an electronic failure. The school must supply the Region Executive Secretary / Assistant Executive Secretary a written justification for doing so. If the Executive Secretary / Assistant Executive Secretary determine that the justification does not support the action, the Region Executive Committee may proceed with consideration of penalty

New Starting in 2022 – The UIL marching band rules advisory committee passed a proposal allowing bands at a contest to check wireless devices only during contest intermissions and during the 7 minute period that includes a band’s 2 minute exit and a band’s 5 minute field entrance. This includes bands in warm-up and other areas around the stadium. All electronics cannot be checked during a band’s 8 minute performance time. This include the use of amplified metronomes
