Statement from UIL Region 15

As many of us are trying to cope with the challenges of these unprecedented times, Kerri and I hope that you and your families are doing well. As many of you are aware, the UIL State Office issued a statement earlier today suspending all UIL activities until May 4, 2020. Because of this statement, all UIL Evaluations scheduled for April have been cancelled. All judges contracted for our April UIL Evaluations were informed earlier today of our decision. I know the one question everybody will be asking, “Will our UIL Evaluations be rescheduled”? At this time, I am not able to make any decisions concerning rescheduling. I have been in constant communication with our Region Executive Committee members and with all of our Region 15 Fine Arts Administrators, and the consensus is that we simply are not able to make any plans right now for UIL Evaluations in May. As soon as all of us are able to go back to school and look at the windows of opportunities for UIL Evaluations in May, and evaluate the status of this virus, we will be able to decide how to move forward. Until then, Kerri and I wish all the best for you and your families during these uncertain and challenging times in our lives. Please be watching out for more UIL updates.

Best Wishes,

Ruben Adame
